LOCAL NEWS - JUNE 1, 2021: BLANC-SABLON – The Sûreté du Québec reminds motorists to slow down

From June 11th until June 17th 2021, the Sûreté du Québec along with the police chiefs association of Quebec and the SAAQ will work together for the National Speed Operation (NSO).

For the second year in a row, this operation is named "I Slow Down, I Save Lives" to remind motorists that if every driver would practice safe driving habits, that their actions can make a difference. Speeding is the principal cause of death on Quebec roads.

As the province continues to return to normal activities following all of the covid restrictions, there will be a lot more traffic on the roads. The Sûreté du Québec is taking the opportunity to warn motorists to slow down, drive responsibly, and avoid receiving a speeding ticket.
